Many congratulations are already underway: for President and Vice President of the United States of America. The Honorable Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada congratulated President Joe Biden and Vice Presiden Kamala Harris.
Also, Kamala’s Westmount High school is also not left out in this frenzy. The oldest English-speaking school in Quebec Canada founded in 1873 felicitated with their alumna on Twitter.
“WHS Knight in the White House!!”She did it. Kamala Harris- so many firsts. WHS Pride.” They wrote.
After Kamala Harris’s parents divorced when she was seven years old, her mother, Shyamala Gopalan Harris moved to Montreal, Quebec, Canada where she accepted a research and teaching position at McGill University. Kamala and her sister moved with their mother where she briefly attended a French-speaking primary school, Notre-Dame-des-Neiges, and then Westmount High School in Westmount, Quebec, graduating in 1981.
After High school, Kamala Harris returned to California to begin her career as a lawyer.
New York Times reported on Wednesday evening, that President Joe Biden was undoing some of former President Donald Trump’s legacy.
The president signed 17 executive orders meant to target and dismantle policies that he said caused “the gravest damage” to the nation. These orders will sweep aside Trump’s pandemic response, reverse much of his environmental agenda, tear down his anti-immigration policies, bolster the sluggish economic recovery and restore federal efforts aimed at promoting diversity.
This is coming just after a weekend that saw the President and Vice President-elect make their first public appearance. Joe Biden in his public address said: “I pledge to be a president who seeks not to divide but unify. Who doesn’t see red states or blue states, only sees the United States.”
Joe Biden is the 46th president of the United States. After securing a total of 273 electoral votes.
