Prince Harry and Meghan find freedom in Podcasting

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have launched their podcast – Archwell Audio.

They intend to use it to inspire audiences across the globe and to encourage people to listen.

The exclusive multi-year deal with Spotify is a business agreement in their latest production venture. Together, they plan to host and produce podcasts that uplift and entertain audiences.

The now official Podcasters made this announcement via their media barely 24 hours when Twitter data provided a report that revealed that over 20 million tweets were made about the Royal Family in 2020, with the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan being the most tweeted about, followed by Prince Harry and The Queen.

Spotify published an exclusive partnership agreement with Archewell Audio, a new, audio production company founded by Prince Harry and Meghan Markel. Their first episode, a holiday special featuring inspirational stories, is set to go live ahead of Christmas.

“What we love about podcasting is that it reminds all of us to take a moment and to really listen, to connect without distraction.” They said in a joint statement.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex may live in California but the power of their voices rests in their status as citizens of the world. That they are embracing the extraordinary capacity of podcasts on Spotify while also seeking to elevate underrepresented voices is a testament to their appreciation for the potential of audio storytelling,

“We are proud to partner with The Duke and Duchess and look forward to listeners hearing directly from them and the other creators that they will be elevating via our global platform.” Said Spotify’s chief content and advertising business officer, Dawn Ostroff.

It was only two days ago that Meghan Markel made a surprise appearance on CNN heroes to honor the winners of 2020.

After keeping a low profile in the aftermath of their split from senior royal duties to become financially independent, the duo relocated to the United States of America, haven settled in Montecito, they have since participated in more public events and to unveil their ventures in the privacy of their home in California. Together, they appeared as guests on the Teenager Therapy Podcast in October, and in November, Meghan wrote a deeply personal essay for The New York Times in which she shared details of a pregnancy loss.

Though the Sussexes’ first complete podcast series is not due until 2021, a teaser has been released ahead of the holiday. An episode that includes a down to earth expression from the royal couple.
